Our Expeditions

Each journey is designed to reveal different dimensions of Canadian wilderness, from high-altitude ecosystems to ancient coastal forests.

Alpine Traverse

5 days • Moderate to Challenging

Journey through high-elevation terrain where glaciers carve valleys and wildflowers bloom in brief alpine summers. This expedition crosses multiple ecological zones, from subalpine meadows to rocky ridgelines offering panoramic views across mountain ranges.

Daily hiking distances range from 8 to 14 kilometers with elevation gains up to 800 meters. We camp at remote sites accessible only on foot, practicing Leave No Trace principles while observing marmot colonies, mountain goats, and potential grizzly activity at safe distances.

Nights bring star fields undimmed by light pollution. Our guides provide instruction in wilderness navigation, weather reading, and alpine plant identification. All camping equipment and meals included.

Coastal Wilderness

6 days • Moderate

Explore where temperate rainforest meets Pacific shores along archipelagos rich with marine life. This expedition combines sea kayaking through protected channels with hiking ancient forest trails beneath towering western red cedars and Sitka spruce.

Paddle alongside orca pods during migration periods, observe sea otter populations, and watch bald eagles nesting in old-growth canopies. Tidal dynamics govern our daily rhythms—launching at optimal times to catch favorable currents and explore intertidal zones.

We camp on remote beaches accessible only by water, practicing tidal awareness and coastal safety protocols. Previous kayaking experience helpful but not required; instruction provided for all skill levels. Waterproof gear, kayaks, and meals included.

Northern Lights Expedition

7 days • Winter • Moderate

Winter transforms boreal forests into landscapes of profound silence broken only by wind through spruce and occasional wolf howls. This cold-season expedition ventures into northern regions where aurora borealis displays illuminate extended darkness.

Learn traditional survival techniques including fire-building in snow, winter shelter construction, and cold-weather camping strategies. Track lynx, caribou, and arctic hare through fresh snow while understanding how wildlife adapts to extreme conditions.

Nights bring aurora viewing from remote locations free of artificial light. Our guides provide photography instruction for capturing northern lights. Temperature ranges from -15°C to -30°C; all cold-weather gear, heated tents, and meals included.

Wildlife Photography Safari

4 days • Easy to Moderate

Designed for photographers seeking to document Canadian wildlife in natural habitats. This expedition prioritizes animal behavior observation and ethical photography practices over distance covered.

Visit locations known for black bear activity during salmon runs, elk herds in mountain valleys, and nesting areas for migratory birds. Our guides—experienced in both wildlife behavior and photography—provide instruction on composition, lighting, and respectful approach distances.

We use vehicle-supported base camps allowing transport of photography equipment while accessing prime locations during optimal light conditions. Maximum group size of six ensures everyone gets clear shooting opportunities. Meals and ground transportation included.

Backcountry Fishing Retreat

5 days • Moderate

Access remote river systems and alpine lakes holding native trout populations in pristine watersheds. This expedition combines wilderness travel with fly fishing instruction and aquatic ecology education.

Wade crystal rivers where cutthroat and bull trout thrive, or cast to lake-dwelling populations in cirque basins surrounded by peaks. Our guides teach catch-and-release ethics, reading water for fish habitat, and matching flies to local insect hatches.

Between fishing sessions, explore riparian ecosystems and learn about freshwater conservation challenges. All fishing gear, licenses, and camping equipment provided. Suitable for both novice and experienced anglers.

Autumn Colors Hiking

3 days • Easy

Experience fall transformation as deciduous forests shift to gold and crimson while larch trees turn valleys into seas of amber. This shorter expedition suits those seeking immersion without extended backcountry commitment.

Hike through mixed forests where aspen, birch, and larch create layered color palettes against evergreen backdrops. Observe wildlife preparing for winter—bears feeding intensively before hibernation, elk in rutting season, birds gathering for southern migrations.

Day hikes return to comfortable base camp each evening, allowing participants to enjoy wilderness without carrying full backpacking loads. Photography-focused with stops at optimal viewpoints. All meals and base camp accommodation included.
